Paulo Bruscky (Recife, 1949) é artista visual expoente da arte conceitual no Brasil, investigando o trânsito entre arte, tecnologia e comunicação. Sua prática se baseia na ideia de arte como informação, marcada pelo experimentalismo através da poesia visual, livros de artista, performances, intervenções urbanas, filmes e outras mídias. A produção é caracterizada pelo conteúdo de contestação social e política, resultado da postura crítica e militante do artista desde os anos da ditadura militar no Brasil. Expôs em inúmeras Bienais de São Paulo e na 10ª Bienal de Havana (Cuba) em 2009. Possui obras em importantes coleções, como: Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM SP), Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), entre outros. Vive e trabalha em Recife. 

 

Paulo Bruscky (Recife, 1949) is an exponent of conceptual art in Brazil, investigating the transit between art, technology and communication. His practice is based on the idea of art as information, marked by experimentalism through visual poetry, artist books, performances, urban interventions, films and other media. Bruscky’s work is characterized by the content of social and political contestation, the result of the critical and militant stance of an artist who started his career during the rise of military governments in Brazil and other Latin American countries. He participated numerous times in the São Paulo Bienalle as well as at the 10th Biennial of La Habana, Cuba, in 2009. He has works in important institutional collections, such as: Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM-SP), Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA); among others. Brusky lives and works in Recife.
