Santidio Pereira nasceu em Curral Comprido (Piauí, 1996). O jovem artista se encontrou com os processos da xilogravura no Instituto Acaia, ONG de projetos socioeducativos na região do Ceagesp. Interessado em expandir seus conhecimentos sobre o universo da arte, começou a frequentar as aulas livres de história da arte ministradas pelo crítico e curador Rodrigo Naves. Em 2016 realizou sua primeira exposição individual na Galeria Estação com curadoria do mesmo Rodrigo Naves. Esteve entre os dez finalistas do 5º Prêmio Energias na Arte, expondo seu trabalho no Instituto Tomie Ohtake. Vive e trabalha em São Paulo.

The piece by Santidio Pereira focuses on need for a reconnection with nature or with the cultural roots that make up the thick broth of what we understand as Brazilian culture. It is an action to bring the north closer to the south and also a celebration the beauties of life.

 

Santidio Pereira was born in Curral Comprido (Piauí, 1996). The young artist studied woodcut at Instituto Acaia, an NGO for socio-educational projects in the Ceagesp region. Interested in expanding his knowledge of the art universe, he began to attend free art history classes given by critic and curator Rodrigo Naves. In 2016, he had his first solo exhibition at Galeria Estação, curated by Naves. He was among the ten finalists of the 5th Energias na Arte Award, exhibiting his work at the Tomie Ohtake Institute. Pereira lives and works in São Paulo.
